I am working as a Quality Analyst and in my Job I have to prepare a variety of Documents as Specification Requirements, Test Plan, Test Execution reports and the Moments of the Meeting(MOM) when the meet ends. The course I undertook at NSTC Scientific and Technical writing has helped me to draft any document at work with ease. Now I know how a document should be drafted for its core purpose with short sentences without altering the cause of the document. I’m more efficient in preparing documents without beating about the bush.

Scientific and Technical writing program of NSTC has helped me immensely by keeping my skills sharp and fresh by learning new techniques in writing. It is improving my quality of writing among our staff, which in turn reflects well on the company I work for. As I am an Engineer it helps me to understand our clients more easily. As I am a female professional it will be more beneficial for me to work from home in my future.

I’m a copywriter and I come across a lot of documentation and drafting work in my daily routine. Scientific and Technical Writing course of NSTC has helped me keep abreast of the styles of writing and also helps me in perfecting the rules of grammar. As I intend to embark into a writing career for the rest of my life, technical writing surely becomes an inevitable tool.

I’m almost in the verge of completion of this course and can proudly say that there is a significant perfection in my writing skills. Now, when I produce a document, my co-workers and seniors appreciate my writing. In their opinion, I have improved a lot in conveying complex ideas in an explicit manner. My fluid writing style makes the topic easy and interesting for the readers and hence my write-ups are slowly becoming very popular and therefore, rewarding my ultimate ambition.

As a student of Scientific and Technical Writing program, I can say that as the course is progressing I am finding it to be more and more informative and enriching. Though I joined my present company as a content writer on several occasions I had to don the hat of a technical writer as well. Earlier it was indeed a challenging task but this course has really helped me to overcome the difficulties and come out with flying colors. Nowadays writing admin manuals seems to be a cakewalk. I am sure in future too if I join any other organization in the capacity of a technical writer I would be able to do to justice to my role.

I am Masters in Biotechnology and intend to enroll for my PhD soon and I am well aware that I would have to write various kinds of lab reports, articles, thesis, proposals, research papers, etc. Scientific and technical writing program has taught me all these concepts well in advance. It has proved to be a very valuable program to me.

NSTC conducted Scientific and Technical Writing Program has been a good experience for me. The course had good references,extensive quizzes and regular evaluation. The course covered all essential areas of technical writing prevalent in the industry today. The Mid term assignment was based on good understanding and application of the chapters. A good deal of emphasis was given to grammer. English Grammer has long been neglected since the advent of word processing software. Overall the program proved to be extremely convenient long distance course. My best wishes to the program for achieving more success with continued improvements in tune with the latest trends in the technical writing field.

The course was good. It surely includes some of the things which are quite beneficial. The flexibility of course made it easy to pursue according to one's convenience.

The course is well designed and tailored according to the needs of the users. The course is designed in such a way that even working professionals can do it at their convenience. Apart from the course materials, the assignments posted online make sure that the students read through the chapters and answer the questions. Study guidelines are also posted which help the students to prepare according to the schedule say one topic per day. Power point slides and You tube videos posted contain information not given in the book which is quite useful for the students. The assignment questions are more of practical nature. The students have to apply the concepts learnt to answer them. This in a way prepares the students to answer any type of question.

When I learnt of this course in Technical Writing I instinctively knew that I just had to join it. Now I feel my decision stands entirely vindicated. Being from a science and industry background the course is especially useful as it imparts skills that are relevant to my career. The systematic and disciplined approach used in technical writing is helping inculcate accurate & effective communication which is crucial for success in my chosen field. Not only that, by utilizing the specialized knowledge acquired through this course I will be better equipped to prepare the various technical documents- e.g. Sales literature (including Product leaflets & Catalogues etc.),Instruction Manuals for Product Use, Technical Specifications & Datasheets- that are required in my everyday work.

I work as Special Educator in FiVE which is a center for child development. We offer services for children with autism, attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), Learning disability (LD), Cerebral Palsy etc. The services include Occupational Therapy, Speech therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Remedial Instruction and Cognitive modification tools. Currently my job is restricted to being a remedial instructor for children with LD. Its been just three years since the inception of FiVE and plans are being made to expand its services through various means like establishing assessment and therapy protocols, manuals, interactive websites, blogs, workshops, training sessions etc. This requires a lot of written documents to be in place which required the services of a Technical Writer. As I have had exposure to writing scientific articles in my previous job, it just made sense for me to get trained in Technical writing to meet the needs of the company. I have found the course to be immensely informative and practical. Even before the completion of the course I have already started working on preparing an assessment manual for our Services Dept, which of course will form a part of my project for the course. This is just the beginning of a long list of documentation that will be required for the company. It will be immensely satisfying to be doing two different jobs; that of being a Special Educator and a Technical Writer.

I am a research scholar by profession. In this area one needs to be a good research worker as well as a good writer to present one’s research carried out so that it can be available in precise manner to the scientific community. STW program has helped me develop a keen understanding as to how to present them; it can be an article, an abstract, a review, paper to be published in a journal and so on. So I would say that I have greatly benefited by this course on scientific and technical writing.
